MySafe:LA Earns FEMA Fire Prevention Grant

MySafe:LA and the crew of Engine 91 from the LAFD

MySafe:LA, the public safety unit of The Safe Community Project, was awarded a fire prevention and safety grant by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) – itself an agency of the United States Department of Homeland Security.

The funds provided via the FEMA grant apply directly to MySafe:LA’s mission of reducing risk in the community, via canvassing and installing FREE smoke alarms, teaching families how to escape house fires, creating educational materials and providing presentations to elementary school children and older adults, and much more.

The Safe Community Project is grateful to FEMA for awarding this grant, and will endeavor to deliver the best possible program to reduce the risk of fatalities and loss of property in the greater Los Angeles community.
