Several of our officers have decades of experience in quantitative and qualitative research. MySafe:LA puts that expertise to work in the form of surveys that gather information important to both the fire service and public safety overall.
As an example, in the summer of 2017, we collaborated with L.A. Council District 1 after residents complained about the growing problem with fireworks. The results are not being includes in multiple areas, including pending local legislation and inclusion in the LAFD’s work group on reducing the threats from fireworks. We’ve been working to change the culture surrounding fireworks ever since, and we’ve had some pretty impressive partners join the program, including the LAFD, LAPD, LAcFD, LASD, LA Rec and Parks, LA Animal Services, and others.
