If you live in Los Angeles, we'd like you to learn how...

Meet the kids of MySafe:LA

MySafe:LA produces and delivers life safety education programs including fire safety, earthquake preparedness, water safety and burn prevention. We collaborate with the Los Angeles Fire Department to bring firefighters and fire engines to schools, recreation and parks facilities, museums and LA Public Libraries.

Each of our programs, including FireSmart:LA, QuakeSmart:LA, Ready-Set-Go, Burn Prevention, WaterSmart:LA, Pet Safety and Senior Safety are developed from national standards, as set forth by organizations like SafeKids Worldwide, the National Fire Protection Agency, and others. We customize the messages for Southern California generally and Los Angeles specifically.

We live in one of the most diverse places in the world. Los Angeles has a major harbor, three airports, the pacific ocean, 174 neighborhoods, a local mountain range, dense urban communities and some open range, all home to more than four million people speaking 200 different languages. Los Angeles is truly a melting pot of people, places, and ideas. With all that diversity comes risk.

Of the 17 natural and manmade disasters identified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, LA is at risk for 16 of them.

Our education process is simple: let's change our behavior to be more aware, more prepared, and as a result, safer in our homes and neighborhoods.
