About Episode One:

On September 11, 2001, when the World Trade Center towers came crashing down, it wasn't just people that rushed in to search for possible survivors. Some of the first responders who traveled to New York had four legged partners. These K9 Search and Rescue (SAR) and Human Remains Detection (HRD) dogs were hard working, dedicated, and remarkable participants in the rescue and eventually, recovery operation.

These dogs are without question heroes that we can all look up to. Tireless. Fearless. Competitive.

What does it take to become a search and rescue dog? It isn't easy. It's not a job for any dog.

Before the Barks will take you on a journey that you'll never forget. Meet these remarkable group of puppies who yearn to be the best. Only a few of them will make the cut.

Episode One will introduce you to the world of SAR and HRD K9 dogs and their handlers.

Get Ready, Get Set, GO! - A wildfire is unlike any other type of fire. It's not contained in a building. It's subject to the wind, the fuel load, and the topology of the area in which it is burning. As a wildfire grows, it can create its own "climate" and change direction, speed, and ferocity. Don't get surprised and worse, trapped. When authorities say, "evacuate," do it.
