E-mail Print PDF

The City of Los Angeles operates 106 Fire Stations within the city limits. Each station has a "first in" district - a region that it holds the primary responsibility over. Typically, any alarm within that district should result in apparatus and firefighters being on-scene within five minutes.

Get Ready, Get Set, GO! - A wildfire is unlike any other type of fire. It's not contained in a building. It's subject to the wind, the fuel load, and the topology of the area in which it is burning. As a wildfire grows, it can create its own "climate" and change direction, speed, and ferocity. Don't get surprised and worse, trapped. When authorities say, "evacuate," do it.
