2010 NBA Champion Lakers Power Forward Pau Gasol is a crucial part of the back-to-back LA champions. He's also a fire and life safety spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department and MySafe:LA.

The Los Angeles Fire Department would like to remind you that in today's hectic world, your safety depends more and more on your ability to take care of the little stuff yourself. That means fire prevention is an important part of every family's responsibility to each other.

The FireSmart:LA program is designed to give you the information and tools you'll need to make your home, apartment, or school environment safer from fire. Smoke alarms are critical to this overall issue.

We might even bring 2010 NBA Champion Lakers star Pau Gasol with us. Pau and his family are FireSmart - and he encourages every kid in LA to join the FireSmart team as well.
