Los Angeles City Fire Department

Is MySafe:LA a unit of the Los Angeles Fire Department?

No. The MySafe:LA program is a joint venture managed by training and media experts at R|com Creative, LLC, working in conjunction with the Los Angeles Fire Department, the LAFD Historical Society & The William Rolland Firefighters Educational Institute.  It operates under the 501c3 non-profit charter of the LAFD Historical Society.

We have active LAFD officers on our advisory board. LAFD members also contribute to, or review content within the MySafe:LA website.

Get Ready, Get Set, GO! - A wildfire is unlike any other type of fire. It's not contained in a building. It's subject to the wind, the fuel load, and the topology of the area in which it is burning. As a wildfire grows, it can create its own "climate" and change direction, speed, and ferocity. Don't get surprised and worse, trapped. When authorities say, "evacuate," do it.
