Drop, Cover, and Hold On

 Drop Cover Hold On

Drop, Cover, and Hold On!

Remember those words. One of the areas with the biggest misconception base is what to do when an earthquake strikes.

People want to stand in doorways. Bad. The door can swing into you or crush your fingers.

People want ot run outside. No so good. Falling debris will injure or kill you.

People want to jump under the closest table. Good! That's a great place to hang out during an earthquake, but remember to hang on.

If you're really intersted in your personal safety, you'll want to spend a bit of time testing your knowledge regarding taking action during the earthquake. We suggest a great place to do that: DropCoverHoldOn.Org

Get Ready, Get Set, GO! - Several dangerous fires are burning in the greater Los Angeles area and several thousand homes are potentially in harm's way. A wildfire is unlike any other type of fire. It's not contained in a building. It's subject to the wind, the fuel load, and the topology of the area in which it is burning. As a wildfire grows, it can create its own "climate" and change direction, speed, and ferocity. Don't get surprised and worse, trapped. When authorities say, "evacuate," do it.
